Polishing stoves and dishes, refurbishing the kettle or coffee maker, creating fragrant decorations for the home: here's how to use citrus peels for low-cost cleaning.

CITRUS PEELS FOR HOUSEHOLD CLEANING

Detergents cost money. And they often leave a sour smell in the house that becomes annoying. So it is advisable to think about natural remedies, valid alternatives, for house cleaning. Among these, we find, first of all, the peel of citrus fruits.

HOUSE CLEANING WITH CITRUS

Lemons, oranges, and tangerines, once peeled, do not necessarily have to end up in the wet bucket: the peel of a squeezed lemon, for example, will be very useful, also thanks to the juice still retained by the remaining pulp, for polishing stoves, cutlery, and dishes. The rinds leftover from the preparation of a fresh lemonade will help you in polishing the  copper objects, which will return shiny as if they were new: a grandmother's remedy with surprising results.

LEMON PEELS HOME REMEDIES

If you want to refurbish the bottom of your coffee pot, pour in the water,  coarse salt, and chopped lemon peels. Let it sit for some hours and rinse. If limescale has settled on the bottom of your electric kettle, bring the water to a boil in which you have dipped some chopped lemon peels; then add half a glass of vinegar and leave to act for at least an hour. The limestone will dissolve as if by magic.

DECORATIONS WITH PEELS OF ORANGES

And finally, with citrus peels, you can prepare delicious and fragrant decorations for the home or even, in the winter months, decorations for the Christmas tree.  Start a few weeks before the holidays to preserve and dry the peels of the oranges you consume in the air. Have fun peeling citrus fruits already giving them a form, to create f iori and garlands with which addobberete your fir.
